Most people do. In fact, inner negativity is a universal problem. Chronic negativity can smother the naturally positive person that you are, deep down.
The entire world is suffering with this issue, believe it or not! To free your inner positive nature, you need to let go of the negativity that covers it up. How does negativity manifest?
Most people experience a negative inner voice saying things like:
You’re an idiot. You can’t do that! You could have… You should have… That’s not good enough. Look at everyone else. They don’t have problems like you. You are ugly. You don’t deserve. You’re missing out. You’re a loser.
I could go on, but you know what I mean. If you aren’t aware of such a voice, but still feel negative feelings regularly, then listen more closely. It is there, whispering away. You have just taken it for granted so it hasn’t dawned upon your consciousness yet.
My own negative voice says things like:
Who cares? It doesn’t matter – nothing matters. I don’t matter!
When I give this voice power, it is a free ticket to irresponsibility, lack of discipline and feelings of low self-worth.
How to Stop the Inner Negativity
Don’t resist. It’s counter intuitive, I know. But, don’t resist it. Treat your inner critic, the dark side of your unconscious self – with respect. That’s the key. As soon you as begin to fight, it wins.
This is terribly corny, but it reminds me of Darth Vader enticing Luke to give in to his hatred and fight back. Don’t do it! Don’t resent yourself for resenting yourself. Don’t criticize your inner critic – that’s the inner critic’s game and it will win.
A much better option is explained in this 5-minute video below I made called Disarm your Inner Critic.
If you work with your inner critic, rather than against it, soon you will learn to let it go. It will no longer have power to drag you down.
You are a naturally positive person, with positive desires and dreams of making the world a better place. The reality is, you also have a dose of inner negativity that can throw you for a loop. That’s fine. Use the tools in the above video and, over time, your positive nature will free up.
Patience. Impatience is one of the inner critic’s favorite weapons.
Additionally, our A-H-A Solution program focuses on addressing negativity and the inner critic by identifying your attachment and recognizing that your inner critic is simply often self-sabotage. Through the awareness of your specific attachment, the inner critic disappears. Click here to find out more about the program.
