Alumni Spotlight: Jackie Reid

Jackie, a graduate of the iNLP Center’s Master Life Coach and Mental Health Coach trainings, is partnering with a local weight loss clinic to provide coaching support. She utilizes NLP techniques and parts work to help clients maintain their weight loss by addressing the underlying relationship with food and body image. While her initial vision wasn’t weight loss coaching, she embraced the opportunity and feels prepared thanks to her comprehensive training.

Here are her tips for aspiring coaches:

  1. Don’t wait for a perfect niche, start with what interests you.
  2. Announce you’re a coach! Networking can lead to unexpected opportunities.
  3. Say yes to new possibilities, even if they’re outside your comfort zone.

Hope Bundrant: Thank you for choosing iNLP Center for your training! You’ve completed many iNLP Center trainings and continue to attend live sessions and support our community. Please tell our readers which courses you have taken at the iNLP Center.

JackieI’ve completed the Master Life Coach Training and the Mental Health Coach Training.

Hope Bundrant: How is your success now?

Jackie: I’m very excited to partner with a local clinic to offer coaching alongside their weight loss program.  They recognized that many of the people who enroll in their program lose the weight but have a hard time keeping it off.  I will be offering weekly coaching sessions alongside the program to help participants stay on track by incorporating NLP coaching techniques and parts work (if needed) so they can better understand and heal their relationship with food and their bodies.

Hope Bundrant: What’s your coaching niche?

Hope Bundrant: How close is your niche to your initial coaching vision?

Jackie: I never intended to offer weight loss coaching!  But this opportunity presented itself, and because of the comprehensive training I’ve received, I feel prepared for the challenge.

Hope Bundrant: What’s a tip you can give to current students?

Jackie:

1. Don’t get hung up on waiting until you have the perfect niche to start your business.  Lean towards what interests you most and trust in the journey to lead you.
2.  Begin announcing to everyone that you’re a coach.  That’s how the weight loss coaching opportunity came about.  Someone overheard me say I was a mental health coach, and so it happened that the doctor at the clinic was looking for a life coach to enhance his program!
3.  And say “YES!” to opportunities that come your way.  Even if it’s out of your comfort zone, it may lead you where you need to go.

Hope Bundrant: Where can students find you online?
Jackie: My website is www.jackiejreid.com
