ICF awards three levels of coaching credentials- ACC, PCC, and MCC. They can be earned by completing an ICF-accredited training, being mentored by an ICF coach, practicing over 100 hours of coaching, and passing the ICF coaching assessment. Each credential level has specific requirements, with the ACC credential requiring the least.
A training center can provide the requirement to apply for an ICF credential but only the International Coaching Federation (ICF) can award an ICF credential. Once someone has met the ICF credential training, mentoring, and coach practice requirements they may apply for an ICF credential on the ICF website.
A Level 1 Training includes the training and mentoring requirements for the ACC credential. It also includes your coaching demonstration review. You will still need 100 coaching practice hours to meet all the ACC requirements.
A Level 2 Training includes the training and mentoring required for both the ACC and PCC credentials. As well, it includes the coaching demonstration review. You will still need 500 coaching practice hours to meet all the PCC requirements.
Both our Level 1 and Level 2 Training we offer include your coaching practice hours for the ACC and PCC credentials.
Once you’ve completed the requirements for the ICF coaching credential, you’ll apply for an ICF coaching credential. You will pay a fee to ICF of $250 – $850, depending on the level of credential and the application path you use. However, the fee is good for three years of credentialing. You should complete a Level 1 or Level 2 coach training to pay the lowest application fee.
It is not hard to earn an ICF coaching certification. It is just takes time to meet all the requirements. You will spend at least 70 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching practice to meet the first coaching certification level (ACC).
The next level (PCC) will take 65 more training hours and 400 more hours of coaching practice.
The third and highest level (MCC) will take 75 more hours of training and 2000 more hours of coaching practice. Mentor coaching is built into each of those levels.
All ICF approved coach trainings will teach at least the ICF core competencies. They may also teach some coaching models to follow.
Our ICF approved coach training provides additional certification trainings in NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming), unlimited marketing, and all the coaching practice hours you’ll need to meet the ICF requirements. It is a very a comprehensive coach training.
