My formal education began with an AA degree in Library Technology and ended with a Ph.D. in Psychology. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Washington and California, a certified coach, and most recently an NLP Master Practitioner and Trainer. Yes – a lifelong learner.
My professional career began as a City Service Officer, teaching drug education for a police department in Northern CA. While there, the Chief gave me a unique opportunity to develop a community counseling program. I supervised trainees and interns who counseled “at risk” students on elementary school campuses and in-house. The program was later revamped for use by a local school district.
The past seven years, I have taught masters and bachelor’s level online courses for three universities. The Psychology and Forensic Psychology classes included Social and Cultural Diversity, Personality Theories, Deviance and Violence, and Juvenile Delinquency to name a few.
Recently, a change in direction! While I had known about NLP for a long time, I finally received formal training when I discovered the iNLP Center and was captivated by the rigor of the program and engaging, supportive staff. The program offered a much more positive, growth-oriented way of looking at and resolving mental health issues than my other training. When Mike asked me to work for the center, I jumped at the chance.
In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with family, reading, exercising, and traveling. My husband and I were born and raised in Ohio but moved to CA about 30 years ago. We lived in Washington for 6 years – but came back home to California – the blue sky and family were calling.
I look forward to my continued involvement with students, supporting you to successfully complete the learning modules, participate in the live classes and earn your certification.
